The River at Wrightsville Ave. is a part of the Church of God, with headquarters in Cleveland, TN. We are focused on serving Christ through worship, community with each other, and ministering to the residents of Wilmington, NC. Church History
The church began on March 16, 1952 on 21st Street in the heart of downtown Wilmington. Led by Brother J.C. Teachey, the church grew quickly. In 1961, they relocated to Castle Street. After outgrowing that facility, adjoining property was purchased, and the current structure built that fronts Wrightsville Ave.
The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.
